Giovanni Visconti wygrał ranking UCI Europe Tour 2009

Kolega z drużyny Bartosza Huzarskiego, zawodnik ISD Neri – Giovanni Visconti został najlepszym kolarzem rankingu UCI Europe Tour za rok 2009.
Jeszcze na początku października w rankingu prowadził Holender Kenny Van Hummel z drużyny Skil-Shimano. Visconti był trzeci. Jednak dzięki zajęciu przez Włocha dwóch drugich miejsc w wyścigach Coppa Sabatini oraz GP Beghelli, zawodnik ostatecznie zakończył sezon zajmując pierwsze miejsce rankingu UCI Europe Tour.
Kenny Van Hummel zajął drugą pozycję, a Jimmy Casper (Besson Chaussures – Sojasun) był trzeci.
Najlepszy z Polaków, Przemysław Niemiec (Miche – Silver Cross – Selle Italia) w rankingu uplasował się na 35 pozycji. Mistrz Polski, Krzysztof Jeżowski, najwyżej sklasyfikowany spośród kolarzy jeżdżących w polskiej drużynie, zajął 78 miejsce.
Najlepszą drużyną została francuska ekipa Agritubel, która z powodu wycofania się głównego sponsora z dalszego finansowania zespołu, zakończy z końcem roku swoją działalność.
CCC Polsat zajął 35 pozycję, Mróz Action Uniqua 38, DHL-Author 48, a Legia-Felt 95.
Włochy zwyciężyły klasyfikację narodową. Polska uplasowała się na 10 pozycji.
